Records, PR's and Success Galore

A highlight real of LeBron James, Adrian Peterson and Rafael Nadal (to name a few) couldn't compare to the level of excellence seen so far this track season. OK maybe not quite that good, but the point stands. Storm athletes are already boasting top places in state standings:

Travis Neuman - 1500m & 3000m
Ashley Maton - 1500m
Megan Fristoe - 3000m
Lucinda Howard - High Jump
Evan Bassford - Pole Vault
Boys 4x1 team

While amazing, these are only the first place holders, the depth of the rest of our team is not to be unrecognized.
Already two school records have been set; the Pole Vault currently held at 14ft 1in set by Evan Bassford and the High Jump at 5ft 6in set by Lucinda Howard.
A quick side note to the small audience that stumbles upon this blog post: Our team is hosting the District Championship meet and looking for event sponsorships. If your parents are interested in doing this, please contact one of the coaches or team captains.

A taste of Spring?

The sun has been shining and temperature just right for a flooding of PR's in our first couple meets. Although early in the season, our athletes have been setting very impressive marks. A clean (non-alcoholic) toast goes out to some hard training paying off. While the weather in Central Oregon may be quick to change, lets keep the momentum going. Come out and the support our athletes tomorrow at another home meet, cheer 'em on all the way through the 4x400m relay. Varsity, get ready to hit the road for Roseburg this Friday. Bus departure is at 4:30p.m. Come prepared for a night in the gym and a long day of track and field.
