Saturday, May, 21 at the historic Hayward field, a season of hard work finally paid off as the two state championship title goal was reached.

The girl's performance total of 112.5 points broke the Oregon large-school record at the state meet by half a point. They bested second place finisher Sandy by more than 50 points.

For the boys, it was a fight until the final moments. Going into the last event, they were tied with Marshfield for first place. A third place finish in the 1600m relay (one place ahead of Marshfield), gave the boys team the gold, edging out Marshfield by just one point.

Check out video coverage of the meet at http://www.osaa.tv/events/18906

Congratulations to athletes and coaches, for running, throwing and jumping with your heart, for training your mind and body, for setting and conquering goals. After our most recent meet, 32 athletes are heading to state. While the weather in Central Oregon may be quick to change, lets keep the momentum going. Come out and the support our athletes tomorrow at another home meet, cheer 'em on all the way through the 4x400m relay. Varsity, get ready to hit the road for Roseburg this Friday.
